Step 1: Generate Barcodes

To make sure tickets scan correctly, generate barcodes before the event.

  • Go to your event in the dashboard

  • Click More → Generate barcodes

  • Do this 2–3 hours before the event for best results

⚠️ If you add more tickets after generating barcodes, you’ll need to generate them again.

Refunds made after barcode generation won’t deactivate the ticket – it will still scan as valid.

Step 2: Create Scanner Codes

  1. Go to Settings → Scanning

  2. Click Add

  3. Select your event

  4. Enter how many device codes you need

  5. Click Create

💡 You can view and manage all your codes in the Scanning section. Use filters to sort by event or date.

⚠️ If you sold tickets through an external platform, request a barcode export and send it to Support via chat. Otherwise, those tickets won’t scan.

Step 3: Log In to the Scanning App

Download the XTIX scanning app from the App Store or Google Play.

  1. Open the app and enter your scanner code

  2. Select your event

  3. Tickets will start loading automatically

    • If not, tap Tickets loaded → Load tickets

  4. Once loading reaches 100%, tap Scan ticket and allow camera access

🔋 Don’t forget to charge your devices and bring a power bank if scanning will last more than 30 minutes.

What Happens When You Scan a Ticket?

The screen will show one of three results:

✅ Green – Ticket is valid

The customer can enter.

❌ "Ticket not found" – Possible reasons:

  1. Wrong event

  2. Damaged screen or low-quality screenshot

  3. Ticket from an external platform not uploaded

  4. Counterfeit ticket

  5. Refunded ticket

Use the search bar to look up the ticket by name, barcode, or reservation number if needed.

❤️ Red – Ticket already used

  1. The customer may have already entered

  2. Someone else used the ticket (resale or shared online)

  3. Double scan (check timestamps – if they’re seconds apart, it’s likely a duplicate)

⚠️ If the ticket was already used and timestamps are far apart, we don’t recommend allowing entry.
